Faversham RUFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Jay Jenkins as their new Director of Rugby.
Jay brings a wealth of coaching experience in the Kent & London leagues, collecting various accolades on the way including a London 3 Winners medal with Aylseford Bulls, Kent Shield and Kent Plate Runners up silverware.
‘I have been watching the steady development at Faversham for some time and have been very impressed with the vision and leadership of the club.
I am excited by the next chapter in my coaching career: the Director of Rugby role will provide several challenges and enjoyable experiences as we move forward out of these unprecedented times.
Faversham is a family friendly, community-based club that has seen an ever growing men's squad regularly put out two teams. The developing ladies’ team and a recently refurbished clubhouse and changing room facility, will assist Faversham RUFC continue to cement its place as an up and coming club.
Next season, Kent 1 will be as competitive as ever and I am keen to start working with the players. Hopefully, our pre-season training will maximise potential across the squads whilst pushing the club forward onto the next level of development.’
FRUFC 1st Team Captain, Rhys McDermott had this to say about the latest appointment;
'As the Faversham 1xv captain I speak on behalf of all the players to say we are delighted to welcome Jay as our new Director of Rugby.
He is a coach who brings a whole wealth of experience and pedigree with him. Next season is going to be exciting for the club and we can't wait to start working with him.
We are all looking forward to seeing the club grow under his leadership, pushing the club on even further whilst building on the previous seasons."
With Jay now on board and his future pledged to the Sham, everyone at FRUFC welcomes Jay and hopes his appointment heralds an exciting new era for the Club as, together, we look to push forward into the next level of the club's development.
